CURRENT OASIS-7: Doubling the clopidogrel dose in ACS patients undergoing PCI


The CURRENT OASIS-7 trial published during ESC showed a remarkable reduction in myocardial infarction and in-stent thrombosis for patients whose loading dose of clopidogrel was doubled. With a dataset of over 17,000 patients, the results are remarkable and uptake in cath labs has been rapid. With time, how will the OASIS-7 regimen compare with novel antiplatelet agents and approaches to antiplatelet testing?

What I think that doubling the dose may causes unavoidable bleeding in the responder. Because still you need some platelet function, for those who are not responding it is wasting of money. So what I suggest, is ,the dose should be platelet -function guided
