Graduated compression stockings and VTE prevention in stroke patients


Preventing VTE in patients immobilized by stroke has been shaken up by the results of the CLOTS-1 trial that shows no benefit from use of graduated compression stockings. How will the results of CLOTS-3 add to the debate? What does the future hold in terms of pharmacological prophylaxis?
